Players of all skills levels are invited to participate in a free, nine-hole disc golf tournament from 9 a.m. to noon March 24.

The tournament will be part of a larger celebration called Cabin Fever, which will be held at New Quarter Park, 1000 Lakeshead Drive, Williamsburg.

The tournament will consist of players in foursomes accompanied  by a member of the Newport News Disc Golf Club, who will give instructions and tips to those who have never played as well as first-time players. All participants will receive a prize. Tournament winners will receive additional recognition.

Cabin Fever is the York County Park and Recreation's annual celebration of the end of winter and the beginning of spring. Other events on March 24 begin at 7 a.m. and include a bird walk, canoe and kayak races on Queens Creek, mountain bike trail riding, a nature scavenger hunt for kids and sun gazing with NASA Skywatchers. Exhibits by nature and outdoor recreation organizations will be open from noon to 3 p.m. with live music provided by Joe's Day Off.
