Yorktown teacher wins national honor
Melissa Schreiber has been selected to participate in the Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources Summer Teacher Institute.
Schreiber, an instructor at Yorktown Middle School, will participate in the institute from May 21 to May 25. She was selected from a pool of more than 300 applicants.
The program gives participants the opportunity to work with library's education specialists and subject-matter experts. Participants also have the opportunity to look at the Library of Congress' historical artifacts and develop primary-source-based teaching strategies.
