York County to launch online housing choice voucher waiting list

The Virginia Housing Development Authority and York County Division of Housing and Neighborhood Revitalization will launch an online housing choice voucher waiting list application process from 9 a.m. to noon July 19.

Anyone may apply. Applicants who live in York County and Poquoson will be placed on the waiting list ahead of those who do not. Homeless applicants are given preference.

The program provides housing assistance to eligible low-income people and families. The program subsidizes a portion of a person's rent.

Applicants will receive a confirmation number upon completion. The application form consists of less than 20 questions. Anyone can apply on behalf of someone else.
