York County Board of Supervisors approve changes to housing plans

Supervisors in York County approved at the June 19 meeting an application by Centrum-Williamsburg Limited Partnership and The Reserve at Williamsburg LLC to allow for different types of housing in its already-approved community.

According to the recently released information about that meeting, action taken by the supervisors allowed the partnership and developers of The Reserve to add townhomes and assisted-living units to the types of permitted housing allowed at the planned community. The supervisors’ decision also eliminated the sequencing requirements for commercial and residential space.

In other business, the supervisors approved a five-year lease agreement for the Child Development Resources Inc. for space inside the Griffin-Yeates Center; ordinances prohibiting parking on Bay Tree Beach Road and establishing a policy for freight shed use; and reauthorized the salaries of the York County Board of Supervisors.

The board meets at 6 p.m. July 17 at York Hall, 301 Main St., Yorktown.
