Warwick grad Lyons plays in Virginia Wesleyan loss

Breven Lyons, a graduate of Warwick High School, is a sophomore guard for the Virginia Wesleyan College men's basketball team.

Warwick High School graduate Breven Lyons played for Virginia Wesleyan College in a 100-89 loss against Newport News Apprentice School on Jan. 2 in Newport News, the Virginia Wesleyan College website reported.

The sophomore guard and the Marlins are 7-4 on the season.

Virginia Wesleyan College's next game is at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 on the road against Shenandoah.

Lyons is a 2011 graduate of Warwick High School in Newport News. The mathematics major is from Newport News and is the son of Tremaine Jernigen and Bridgette Lyons.
