York County Parks and Recreation events, March 13-29

The York County Parks and Recreation released the following events schedule for Wednesday, March 13, to Friday, March 29:

• On Wednesday, March 13 at 9:30 a.m. there will be a Tax Relief & Filing Assistance for the Elderly and/or Disabled event. According to a press release, "Staff from the office of the York County Commissioner of the Revenue will be available to offer assistance with completing the application for this tax relief program available to real estate owners residing in York County. To be eligible, an applicant must either be at least 65 years old or permanently and totally disabled, and also must be a York County homeowner who resides in the dwelling.

• On Wednesday, March 13 at 1 p.m. there will be a World of Celtic Music event. According to a press release, "Folk Singer and Entertainer Bob Zentz will enlighten us with an array of Celtic folklore. Mr. Zentz will also play numerous musical instruments and lead the group in an enjoyable sing-a-long."

• On Friday, March 15 at 1 p.m. there will be a Let's Go to the Movies event. According to a press release, "In the spirit of success and entrepreneurism, the York County Library and the Senior Center will present the 2006 American biographical drama film, 'The Pursuit of Happyness.' This moving film is based on a true story about salesman turned stockbroker Chris Gardner, and his challenges as a father and in finding a professional career."

• On Monday, March 18 at 12:30 p.m. there will be an AARP driver safety program. According to a press release, "This program is designed for drivers age 50 or (older), and will take place on Monday, March 18, from 12:30-4:45 p.m. and Tuesday, March 19, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. The cost for this two-day program is $12 for members of AARP and $14 for non-members."

• On Wednesday, March 20 at 12:45 p.m. there will be an event called EVMS CARES: Health Information at Your Fingertips. According to a press release, "Join Ruth Smith, outreach services coordinator at EVMS, as she talks about how to access current, reliable and accurate consumer health information on the web."
